Hamilton Environmental Services was established in 2004, and has established a strong reputation for personal, cost-effective and professional service delivered in a timely manner to the highest quality.Clients have included private landholders and companies and Government agencies, in both New South Wales and Victoria.We have project managed and delivered both big and small projects - no job is therefore too small for us to manage, and we have the necessary experience to manage larger projects as well.

Steve is VQA (Habitat Hectares) accredited and is a Bush Broker site assessor (both through DELWP in Victoria), and is a Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM) accredited assessor in NSW.

The range of services we offer include:

  • Flora and fauna inventory, auditing, monitoring and survey, including targeted threatened species surveys, using standard techniques and remote technology, and research-level floristic monitoring
  • Ecological Vegetation Class (EVC) evaluation and mapping
  • Soil survey, typing and mapping
  • Literature reviews and research investigations, and development of conceptual models and frameworks
  • Vegetation assessments (Vegetation Quality and BushBroker assessments), tree and habitat offset inventories and Vegetation Offset Management Plans and reporting to satisfy the requirements of Victoria's Native Vegetation Management Framework and the 2017 Native Vegetation Removal Regulations (in Victoria)
  • Vegetation condition assessment and mapping, including the application of the ?habitat hectare approach? (VQA and BushBroker Competent within Victoria), Index of Stream Condition (ISC) and the Index of Wetland Condition (IWC)
  • Completion and management of Work Plans and associated reporting to gain approvals for mining (Work Authorities)(in Victoria)
  • Completion and management of Reviews of Environmental Factors (REFs) and Development Applications (DAs), and facilitation of native vegetation clearance application and identification of appropriate offset areas (in liaison with Office of Environment and Heritage [OEH] and Local Land Services {LLSs])(in NSW)(BAM accredited in NSW)
  • Experimental design, interpretation and analysis for ecological field studies
  • Survey data analysis and interpretation using DISTANCE software
  • Management planning for farms and properties, remnant revegetation, revegetation and weed management, including the formulation of strategies for appropriate ecological management and ecosystem restoration
  • Community consultation on NRM issues, including face-to-face and phone interviews, mail and on-line surveys
  • Education and training for contract undertaken in Victoria in botany, general biology, ecology, soil science, revegetation and restoration, management planning and conservation management. Contract teaching into TAFE and Higher Education, and field days on appropriate topics with community groups such as Greening Australia Victoria
  • All projects are supported by high-quality mapping outputs using ArcGIS 10.

HES does not have the overheads of medium or larger sized regional or city consultancies, and we therefore have significantly lower hourly rates. You can be assured that our quotes will be very cost competitive.
